Are you in for Yin??

Remember we offer monthly community Yin classes, the next class is this Sunday, May 21st, from 6-7:15 PM!

These classes are open to everyone ~ all bodies and all levels of ability. Bring family and friends! You will need a mat (available to rent at the front desk). We will provide additional props as needed. Classes are free (donations welcome).

In Yin Yoga, all postures are seated or on the floor and held for long durations, about 3-7 minutes depending on the pose. This is in order to access deeper connective tissues, tendons, ligaments and fascia. Yin Yoga is a very calming and soothing practice, done either silent or with music. Great for stress reduction, peace of mind, and tranquility after a long day, therapeutic to joints and internal organs. Yin Yoga is performed in a warm to cool environment between 70-85 F.

𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀! We welcome you to join us in collaboration with Southwest Portland Martial Arts for a fun and informative workshop in self-defense. While we never wish to come into harms way, the ability to defend oneself or others from physical harm can be invaluable, if not life saving.

In this workshop we will go over the basics of (A) How to create situational awareness, anticipating and spotting danger before it happens; (B) How to escape from a threatening person; (C) Defensive techniques for evading and apprehending a threat. ❖ We will be hosting a 3-day Thai Yoga Bodywork certification in October! We are honored to host Francisco Morales-Bermúdez, a master of Thai Massage Therapy, who is bringing his expertise to Bonfire.

❖ Would you like to be certified in Thai Yoga Bodywork? This course provides participants with the knowledge and skill required to provide 90-minutes of Thai Yoga Bodywork. Participants will gain insight into the history of the art form, technique, and self-care. In order to complete the certification, participants must also complete a practicum that requires them to provide 5 free bodywork sessions to people in their community.
